FIFA and EA Agreement Expires Soon – Will It End Here?
The 10-year contract between EA and the Fédération Internationale de Football Association (FIFA) is set to expire at the end of 2022 with no extension in sight. EA CEO Andrew Wilson stated that the FIFA name is just four letters on a box and FIFA would not grant EA enough creative freedom to enhance the series. Conversely, FIFA stated it wants a larger payout, totaling $2.5 billion over the next 10 years to 2032. Currently, FIFA 23 is set to release in October 2022, but whether or not EA publishes future games is still up in the air.
New ActivityIn response to volatile demand in the wake of the first COVID-19 surge, the company undertook a comprehensive cost reduction program, aimed at shoring up labor and supply costs.
