In February of 2022, Hughes Network Systems LLC, which is a wholly owned subsidiary of EchoStar, announced a successful three-month pilot project for a new Community LTE service in Brazil. Used across five villages in this project, Community LTE creates a mobile hotspot that is several kilometers wide, connecting to the Internet by satellite.
