Open Source accessibility from the Ground Up
The Engineers at Comcast are creating accessibility from the ground up. Since 2020, it has been transitioning its products to a web-based platform running an open-source framework called LighteningJS, the company has an opportunity to embed accessibility directly into the platform. One example, is now the typeface and font size are able to be adjusted more granularly. Another example, is the improvement to the focus state, which is the ability to highlight interactive components for those who have limited mobility, by using larger scales and increasing the color contrasts.
