DaVita increases paid leave for living organ donors
On National Donor Day 2022, DaVita announced it would increase paid leave for employees that donate their bone marrow, liver or kidney. This decision aims to encourage donations and lessen the pressure on donors to return to work while recovering. While the typical hospital stay for a living kidney donor is four to six days, the new policy will allow for four consecutive weeks of paid leave to allow for full recovery at home.
COVID|Labor|M&AIn response to volatile demand in the wake of the first COVID-19 surge, the company undertook a comprehensive cost reduction program, aimed at shoring up labor and supply costs.
