Six Flags notes higher per visit spending by single day ticket holders versus season pass holders
In 2021, Six Flags Entertainment Corporation reported an 18.0% increase for In-Park spending per capita from 2020 to 2021. This offset the decrease in visitors, which fell by 16.0% due to pandemic concerns. The company credits a decrease in season pass holders and higher attendance of single day ticket holders for the growth in In-park spending per capita. Day visitors are more likely to spend higher amounts on food, drinks, toys and memorabilia. Sales of park food, merchandise and other goods increased by 418.9% from 2020 to 2021, reaching $655.5 million. While park admissions declined slightly from 2019, revenue from park food and merchandise increased.
