Inflation and labor as key organizational challenges
Krispy Kreme Doughnuts Inc. (Krispy Kreme) relies heavily on its “Krispy Kremers” to provide high-quality products and services to its customers. However, since the outset of the COVID-19 pandemic, the Accommodation and Food Services sector has had extreme difficulties with attracting and retaining employees. Despite this general trend, Krispy Kreme Chief Executive Office, Mike Tattersfield, assured stakeholders that the company is currently attracting an adequate number of workers despite a general labor shortage within the overarching sector in a January 2022 interview. Nevertheless, Krispy Kreme remains committed to investing in enhancing its workflows and driving profitability with labor saving technologies.
COVID|Labor|Competition|ESGIn response to volatile demand in the wake of the first COVID-19 surge, the company undertook a comprehensive cost reduction program, aimed at shoring up labor and supply costs.
